Fen-Phen® Side Effect Lawyers
In 1997, drug manufacturer Wyeth withdrew its diet drugs fenfluramine and dexfenfluramine (Fen-Phen®) from the market after discussions with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Due to reports connecting Fen-Phen and valvular heart disease, a decision was made to withdraw the drugs to prevent further injuries to consumers. Additionally, primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH) – high blood pressure in the lungs – has also been linked to the use of Fen-Phen, and is not covered through a national class-action lawsuit settlement.
Since 1997, the law firm of Robinson Calcagnie Robinson Shapiro Davis, Inc. has been involved in representing victims of Fen-Phen and their families. At both the state and federal levels, our law firm has played a leading role in helping victims of Fen-Phen recover damages for their injuries. Our Involvement in Fen-Phen Cases
RCRSD senior partner Mark Robinson Jr., served as Plaintiffs’ Liaison Counsel for the coordinated Diet Drug Litigation in the State of California and as a member on the Plaintiffs’ State Liaison Committee in the federal multi-district (MDL) Diet Drug Litigation. Because of Mr. Robinson’s leadership roles in the Fen-Phen litigation, we have helped establish part of the legal process used to recover damages for people around the country who have suffered injuries and damages as a result of Fen-Phen use. Our personal injury lawyers are knowledgeable and experienced with all aspects of Fen-Phen litigation, including the legal issues involved, the available evidence, witnesses and required documentation, the key medical and scientific expert witnesses and consultants, and the procedures necessary to successfully pursue a Fen-Phen case in state or federal court.
